El Salvador child sponsorship update
We’re grateful to the many Northbrook families that faithfully sponsor children through our global partners in El Salvador, Ghana, and India. Please take a few minutes to view these videos to hear the words of children as they share what their Northbrook sponsor means to them. Pastor Agustin from the local church in Cacaopera, El Salvador, shares his heart about the transformation that has taken place in the community through Northbrook’s partnership.
India partner update
When the pandemic and lock down hit India our ministry partners were shocked, uncertain, and numb. Then, one by one, God began to open doors, literally! Churches across India left their doors open 24 hours a day and people began to step through those doors, asking questions about Jesus and coming to faith. By the grace of God, many are accepting Christ and being baptized.
Another significant transformation begun by God is the unfolding of an online training program to train and equip local church leaders and pastors. Students in India and other countries are now able to access training anytime, from anywhere. Individuals we thought could not access this education will now be able to reach and disciple others.
We have an amazing God!

Northbrook’s faithful prayer and financial generosity contributed to these 2020 accomplishments:
Meals for Migrants: Over 30,000 migrant families were fed 150,000 meals over two months.
Food on the Table: A two-month supply of food was provided to 1,250 pastor’s families.
Farm Launched: Ten acres of farmland were revitalized, now producing rice, produce and fish.
Children at Risk: During shutdowns, teachers visited children in their homes.
Online Courses: College students continued their education during shutdown.
New Urban Ministry: Missional small groups were started with a focus to reach business communities.
Ghana partner update

Relationship building and teaching continue with our partner, International Needs Ghana, in creative ways!
Northbrook was asked if we could provide teaching videos for Cosmetology students at CEED (Centre for Empowerment and Enterprise Development). The Centre plans to introduce makeup artistry to its Cosmetology curriculum, allowing students to gain additional skills that will position them well for future salon employment or ownership.
With the talent of Anastasia Gerhartz, a local salon owner and Ghana mission team member, a seven-video series of tutorials has been produced! The series instructs on elements of everyday makeup as well as wedding makeup.
We’re excited to share one of these videos with you!
hygiene kits for kenya

Northbrook’s Threads of Hope ministry is always prepared with a supply of high quality, reusable hygiene kits so we can respond to needs around the world on a moment’s notice. When an opportunity arose to send kits to women living in Kibera slum, outside of Nairobi, Kenya, we were ready! Two suitcases of kits were driven to Michigan and carried by our partner, International Needs, to Kenya. Kibera slum is the largest urban slum in Africa. Hundreds of thousands of people live there, many earning less than $1.00 per day. What do these kits provide? A healthier option for self-care, dignity, improved opportunity for education, and the message of hope found in Jesus Christ.
“Thank you so much for helping me. I can now relax since I am taken care of” – The words of a young girl upon receiving her hygiene kit.

Northbrook's Global Partners
INTERNATIONAL NEEDS GHANA

Since 1974, the central aim of International Needs has been—and continues to be—winning people to Christ.
They dig wells, build schools, and sponsor kids so they can go to school and get a hot meal each day—all for the central purpose of transforming lives and reaching communities for Jesus Christ.

Northbrook Church is a key partner in ministry. We have supported medical teams and clinics, built a church pavilion and six-classroom school, and helped hundreds through child sponsorship and children’s outreach programs.
INDIA

God’s work in India is reflected through a relationship that exists to give everyone an opportunity to hear, understand and respond to the gospel and be discipled into communities of believers, within their own context, so that Christ is radiated in everything they do. This is accomplished through the training of indigenous leaders, planting of churches, relief and rehabilitation efforts, and the education of women and children to transform lives across the nation of India and beyond.

Compassion international

Compassion International uses a holistic child development model through local churches around the world to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name. This is done by blending spiritual, physical, social and economic care that benefits the children, their family and communities. Northbrook has a relationship with Compassion in El Salvador, particularly in the northeast community of Cacaopera, where many children are sponsored by Northbrook families.

Compassion international El Salvador

Northbrook Church is partnering with Compassion International to help babies in El Salvador survive and have the best opportunity to reach their God-given potential in life. Your support is helping sustain Survival programming at the Niños de la Nueva Jerusalén Student Center and the Corderitos de Jesús Student Center, in Morazon, El Salvador. Together, these two Survival centers currently serve 30 babies and their caregivers, thanks to you.
