discover life with jesus

Discovering our life in Christ is both a starting point and a lifelong journey. God invites us into a process of learning about Him, choosing to follow Him, and being rooted into a local church community. As we willingly engage with this process, our faith is strengthened, and we discover what it means to live “life to the full.” (John 10:10)

  • Explore Who God Is (Father, Son and Spirit)

We cannot follow a God who we don’t understand. Exploring the God of Christianity involves examining the countless ways He has lovingly revealed Himself to us – first and foremost through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, as well as the Bible, creation, and humanity.

RESOURCES:

  • Accept Jesus as my Personal Lord and Savior

Accepting Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior includes embracing the core beliefs of Christianity and entering into an ongoing relationship with Him.

RESOURCES:

  • Be Baptized

Every follower of Jesus is encouraged to be baptized. At Northbrook, Baptism is viewed as a public declaration of your faith in Jesus, a commitment to live by His teachings, and a celebration of your new life in Christ.

RESOURCES:

  • Regularly Attend a Weekend Worship Gathering

At our weekend gatherings, we worship as a community, receive Biblical teaching, and partake in the Lord’s Supper. This is an essential rhythm for preserving the unity of the church body, as well as strengthening us for mission.

RESOURCES:

  • Celebrate the Sabbath

By celebrating the Sabbath, we participate in the creative rhythm of God and say no to the exhausting demands of culture. The Sabbath serves as a reminder of the importance of rest and renewal, both for individuals and for society as a whole.

RESOURCES:

  • Become a Member of Northbrook

By pursuing membership at Northbrook, you are saying that you are “all in” and desire to contribute to Northbrook’s vision of making compelling followers of Christ. Through teaching, encouragement, and fellowship, our lasting commitment to one another helps us to reflect Jesus to our world.
